Years of history and education

1922

In 1922, in Piraeus, Marika Petraki and Konstantinos Valsamidis, two inspired educators, founded a model private school for primary and secondary education for boys and girls. The school implemented educational programs such as music, singing, dance, theater, fashion design, and sewing, while placing great emphasis on English and French. This modern and high-quality education continued with Niki and Giannis Valsamidis, who educated hundreds of thousands of students for nearly a century!

2013

In 2013, the third generation took over the management and administration of the school, consisting of Marika Valsamidi, Konstantina Valsamidi-Dimitrellou, and Ioannis Dimitrellos. They adopted the curriculum of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and inaugurated a bilingual (Greek- English) school.

2015

In 2015, ISP was certified by the International Baccalaureate Organization. Education at ISP provides students with high levels of knowledge, access to print and digital sources and technology, preparing them to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. At the same time, the ISP family expanded with the addition of Sporty’ s International School, nursery and kindergarten, following the same philosophy of a bilingual and innovative approach to early education, within a five-acre campus in Elliniko.

2022

In 2022, ISP broadened its scope by founding the International Metropolitan School across three different buildings in Alimos, which include a nursery, kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and from school year 2025-26 onwards, a high school, implementing the IB curriculum (Diploma Programme) and the Panhellenic Exams in the last two grades of high school.

We continue to evolve and shape a learning environment that fosters intercultural understanding, creativity, and critical thinking. We take pride in our journey and look forward to continuing to inspire and educate our students for the future.
