Progress & Assessment

Overview

A) REPORTS

Detailed reports are sent home digitally twice a year

B) DESCRIPTIVE ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed on the basis of their achievements, knowledge, attitudes, skills and IB profiles developed during the units of inquiry.

C) DIFFERENTIATED ASSESSMENT

Each student is individually assessed by the teacher based on their cognitive and emotional needs as well as their skills.  A set of new goals are put in place each time.

D) ASSESSMENT REPORTS (Early Years)

Early Years report cards are given twice a year and assess the knowledge, attitudes, skills and IB profiles developed by students during the units of inquiry.

E) Student Led Conferences

IMS applies the “Student-led conference” form of assessment.  Which is a celebration of students knowledge gained through inquiry presented to their parents. This process helps parents learn more about their child’s progress and achievements in school.

F) Portfolio Day

In Student Led Portfolio Conferences, students, using their personal portfolios, show parents some of their work and explain any difficulties they have encountered and their progress. Students conduct the meeting themselves and are responsible for the meeting. If needed, teachers are available for clarification, positive reinforcement and help.
